Biography
A path into the profession
Education
Vladimir Khegay is a graduate of the Kazakh State Medical Academy (Astana, 2009, specialty “General Surgery”). After his internship he practiced for several years as a general surgeon in Petropavlovsk, and from 2012 headed the city’s Outpatient Surgery Center.
Specialization in plastic surgery
In the autumn of 2013 he completed professional retraining at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University in Saint Petersburg — from that point his practice focused entirely on plastic and reconstructive surgery. From 2014 he worked as a plastic surgeon at a Medical Diagnostic Center, while also taking courses in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery and microsurgery in Saint Petersburg.
International experience
He regularly pursues professional development abroad: in 2018 he took part in the ISAPS congress in Miami (USA), in 2019 he trained at Dr. Patrick Malucci’s clinic in London, and in 2021 — advanced training in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery with Dr. D. V. Melnikov in Moscow.
Today
Since 2021 he has been the lead plastic surgeon at the Al-Clinic clinic in Almaty, seeing patients from all over Kazakhstan.
